Established in 1989, Grey Sands is a 3.5Ha, unirrigated,close-planted, family owned and operated vineyard at Glengarry, 35km NW of Launceston, overlooking the Supply River Valley. We specialise in full-bodied Pinot Gris & Merlot and are diversifying with plantings of Pinot Noir, Malbec and trialling new varieties to Tasmania.

  Micheal Wilson is Tasmania’s only Tour de France cyclist. He named his small vineyard ‘Velo’ which means bicycle in French. The vineyard is the oldest in the Tamar Valley and home to Tasmania’s oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Here Micheal makes unique handcrafted wines from the 41 year old vines. His wife Mary is an artist and her work is on display in cellar door. We also do great coffee!
